Winter is coming but it's no reason to stay indoors and hide out the colder seasons. Going Gourmet wants to take you on a culinary journey around the world and fill you with heart-warming food and drink, with a series of pop up restaurants.
Taking place once a month in June, July, August, September and October, these intimate events will host cuisines from France, Sri Lanka, Italy, Belgium & Germany – taking inspiration from some of our chef's own heritage and flare for cooking!

Sri Lankan Night
Next stop on our Going Gourmet around the world series, is Sri Lanka. Come down to Baxter Barn and feast on some of Sri Lanka’s finest delicacies. The menu will be shared platters, served feasting style, for you to enjoy everything listed on the menu. Due to this, please note only vegetarian dietary requirements will be catered for. French Bistro Night
First up on the list is our French night! Come and experience a four course, feasting style, French Bistro menu.
Tickets are $65 per person with drinks as bar prices and we will begin our "Around the world with Going Gourmet" on Saturday 15th June at 6.30pm.

Oktoberfest has made its way to Baxter Barn with a twist! Oktoberfeast will be a culinary experience. Combined with a Hawkers Beer tent and a German Feast supplied by Going Gourmet (canape style), this will be one Oktoberfest you won't want to miss. So get your friends together, get your best Oktoberfest outfit and come down to Baxter Barn.

Baxter Barn is hosting a Mexican night on Friday 17th November. Bring your friends and make a night of it! A night full of Mexican tapas, sangria, margaritas, coronas and music. This night is always a favourite!
Book your tickets now, as tickets always sell fast. If you book 6 or more tickets you will receive a bucket of Coronas and a jug of Sangria, so gather all your friends together and head down to Baxter Barn.

Winter may be the coldest time of the year, where all you want to do is snuggle up on the couch and watch a good movie, but last Saturday night this was all thrown out the window, because here at Baxter Barn, we hosted potential and current brides at our venue, for a pop up Reception! The guests swapped blankets for warm winter coats, take out for a cocktail experience, slippers for boots and a movie for live music.
We decided to put on the event, so that couples could try before they buy. They got the opportunity to come and see what having your wedding at Baxter Barn is like, and what better way to decide whether a venue is right for you, then to try it out first! Pauline and Wayne from Woops a daisy floristry decked the place out with flowers, lights and even had a mock up bridal bouquet and flower crowns for the girls (or boys!) to have a look at.
The night started with a casual walk around the property, before coming into the barn and feasting on the new antipasto grazing table (now available) filled with dried fruits, nuts, cheese, bread, meat, fresh fruit and grilled vegetables. Imagine having your guests walk into this at your wedding!
We followed this with the full cocktail experience, while Jimmy entertained the guests and performed live. The first 2 hours of roaming canapes were served by our amazing wait staff, which was then, followed by the BBQ hour, where the chef came out and cooked in front of the guests. Flame tricks warmed up the night, while food aromas filled the air.
